RADar! reporting platform

Working together to improve the cycling infrastructure

When broken glass or tree roots leave you swerving, an unlit route is dangerous at night or a cycle path ends abruptly, then the RADar! reporting platform can help. Simply drop a pin on the map, select the reason for your report – and you’re all done! The responsible office in your municipality will then be informed of the issue immediately and your report will be added to the map.

RADar! provides municipalities with helpful concrete suggestions for improvements straight from the everyday experts – the cyclists who use the local infrastructure. At the same time, cyclists can be kept up to date on the processing status of the issues they’ve flagged.

Allowing citizens and local authorities to work together to improve the cycling infrastructure.

Report issues – in a few simple steps

It’s very easy to inform your municipality of obstacles and suggest improvements: Simply drop a pin on the map, select the reason for your report and ideally also provide a brief description and attach a photo of the issue.

Always reach the right people

As the only national reporting platform in Germany, RADar! can be used anywhere that the reporting period is currently active (highlighted in red on the map). Regardless when you have an issue, your reports are immediately sent directly to the responsible person in your municipality.

Remain up to date

As soon as you submit a report, it becomes publicly visible on the map. The current processing status is also indicated (NB: municipalities are able to partly/completely deactivate this function). Municipalities can then keep cyclists up to date on the processing status so that they know that their reports haven’t merely vanished into a filing cabinet.

RADar! is particularly easy to use via the CITY CYCLING app or the website city-cycling.org. Alternatively, for all those who do not have a CITY CYCLING account, there’s also a separate RADar! app and the website radar-online.net.

Notification of specific issues

Municipalities receive valuable information straight from their citizens – the cycling experts in everyday life – on concrete needs for action in the cycling infrastructure.

Citizen participation tailored to local needs

Municipalities can select the reasons for reports relevant to them from a wide range of options and customise RADar! precisely to their requirements. Ensuring that citizens’ participation can be managed using the resources and means that are actually available locally.

Flexible and transparent

Municipalities are able to standardise and automate the exchange with cyclists or adapt it with their own additions. They provide transparent information on the processing status and the expected duration of improvements.

The RADar! reporting platform is not only a useful tool for improving cycling infrastructure. It also impresses with affordable licensing options. There’s even a free, 21-day licence for municipalities participating in CITY CYCLING.
